Glass, color and a pool in the middle
627 Tuna is a modernist house in Fire Island Pines, built around a pool deck. Floor-to-ceiling glass opens the living room, dining room and bedrooms onto the garden, and the pool, hot tub and rooftop deck are all a few steps from the back door.
Inside, almost every room has its own color: emerald in the dining room, ink blue in the living room, coral poppies in the garden bedroom. The four bathrooms are papered in banana leaves, fish, cranes and tropical botanicals. A hanging yellow fireplace anchors the living room, and there is art on nearly every wall.
Guests arrive by ferry or water taxi. There are no cars in the Pines, so everything is a walk or a bike ride. See the ferry schedule.
